While most of us may dread the thought of learning about photosynthesis, if you take a big picture view, you will notice that it not really that complicated. Photosynthesis is simply a series of steps by which autotrophic organisms, such as plants and algae, capture the energy from the sun, and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, to produce the fuel (in the form of glucose) that their cells need to perform metabolic functions.
